“Homebody” – Poetry

Homebody: Paints and Peonies Blog

One day we were living our “normal” lives,

Performing activities where we thrive,

Whether its school, work or home

Suddenly, we are unable to roam.

“A pandemic this virus has become” they said,

So, stay home, be safe so the infection won’t spread.

Do your part to flatten the curve,

So, we can save lives, as they deserve.

We are fighting an enemy that can’t be seen,

It attacks all ages from old, young, and teens.

Some with a weakened immune system doesn’t survive,

Those who recovered say they’re lucky to be alive.

Many testing for vaccine trials is ongoing,

For now, sacrifices by healthcare workers are unending.

Caring for the ill, around the clock with no rest,

Each one of them, doing their best.

You see it’s a simple instruction,

Staying home will lessen further destruction.

Being in isolation keeps everyone safe,

Have faith, be optimistic and be brave.

Until we develop an immunity

Spread love and unity

And… for the sake of Humanity,

Please just be a Homebody.
